Who I am

This website, https://lucapranay.blog, is a personal blog run by Luca Pranay, who is responsible for the personal data described on this page. You can contact me at luca.pintilie@pm.me.

What data I collect, and why

I only collect the data needed to run the blog, to answer you, and to understand how the site is used.

  • Comments. If you leave a comment, I collect the name, email address and website you enter, plus your IP address and browser details, which help with spam detection. Comments are checked by the Akismet spam filter (Automattic). An anonymised string made from your email address may be sent to Gravatar (Automattic) to see whether you have a profile picture.
  • Newsletter and notifications. If you subscribe to the newsletter or to web push notifications, I collect your email address (and your name, if you give it). These are handled by Brevo, my email service provider. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email.
  • Messages. If you write to me by email or through a form, I use your details only to reply to you.
  • Visitor statistics. I use Google Analytics 4 and Jetpack Stats to see which pages are read, how visitors find the site, and which devices and countries they come from. These tools process data such as your IP address and use cookies or similar technologies. I also use Google Search Console data to see how the site appears in Google search.
  • Security. Security tools (Jetpack, Loginizer and my hosting provider security service) record IP addresses to block attacks and spam.
  • Site emails. Emails sent by the site are delivered through an email (SMTP) service.

Cookies

The site and the tools above may set cookies in your browser: cookies that remember your details if you comment (they last one year), cookies from Google Analytics (their names start with _ga), and cookies from Jetpack and the other services listed here. Cookies for logging in are used only by the site administrator, not by visitors.

The site shows a cookie banner. Google Analytics and the Brevo tracking scripts are loaded only after you click Accept All or allow those categories, and they stay switched off if you click Reject All. You can change your choice at any time with the small cookie button on the page. Embedded YouTube videos are loaded from YouTube privacy-enhanced domain (youtube-nocookie.com), which sets no tracking cookies until you play a video. Jetpack Stats counts visits without setting cookies. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with the add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content such as videos (for example from YouTube) or posts from other websites. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, and track how you interact with their content, including when you are logged in to your account there.

Who I share data with

I share data only with the service providers needed to run the site, and only as far as their service requires:

Some of these providers are located outside the European Economic Area. In that case the transfer relies on safeguards such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.

How long I keep your data

Comments and their details are kept until I delete them or you ask me to. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Statistics and security logs are kept according to the retention settings of each tool.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for access to the personal data I hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its use, to receive a copy of it, and to withdraw any consent you gave. To use these rights, write to luca.pintilie@pm.me. You can also complain to your national data protection authority (in Romania: ANSPDCP, www.dataprotection.ro).

Changes to this page

I may update this page when the site or the tools it uses change. Last updated: 7 October 2026.
